Frank Gehry

THE SERPENTINE GALLERY PAVILION

This spectacular structure was the first built project in England by Frank Gehry.

Anchored by four massive steel columns, the Pavilion was composed of large timber planks

and a complex network of overlapping glass planes.

Gehry took inspiration from the wooden catapult designed by Leonardo Da Vinci.

The pavilion is like an amphitheater, it also used for musical events and cultural meetings.

My favourite sport personMy favourite sport person is Carlotta Ferlito.
She was born on 15 February 1995 in Catania, she is a gymnast and use parallel, bar etc..
she wears a leatard, i like her because she is very good and i think she is a very nice and very kind.
Carlotta rapresented Italy at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, in 2012 in London she won  gold and in 2016 in Rio she won bronze.
She is in Italy national team.

The Alhambra Palace
The Alhambra of Granada is know all over the world as one of the most beautiful monuments built by man.
The name ''Alhambra'' comes from Arabic which means 'the red castle' 

The Alhambra was a palace, a city and a fortress, but today is a monuments divided by four zone:
Palaces, the Military area,the city and the agrarian area.
The Alhambra is a set of palaces of different ages.

THE INVICTUS GAMES

The Invictus games is an international sport event created by Prince Harry, at this event partecipate veterans, sick armed services or injured, they take part in sport like sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball and indoor rowing.
The word Invictus derive from Latin which means ''Unconquered'' or ''Undefeated''.
The first Invictus games took place in March 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

New year traditions around the world!

In England believe that the first guest for the year would bring fortune for them.


He should be a male, should enter through the front door and bear some traditional gifts like loaf for the kitchen, drink for the head of the family and coal to light the fire, otherwise he is not allowed. They believe that these bring good luck throughout the year.







In Spain the spanish eat 12 grapes at every toll of the clock during the New Year. This they believe will bring good luck and happiness for the coming 12 months.




In Denmark, residents keep a pile of dishes, all broken, in front of the door. For this they save old dishes and People usually throw these on the friends’ doors during New Year
